Join artists David Alan Boyd and Carlos Estrada-Vega for a discussion of their exhibition “Light, Color, Space, Motion,” at 6:00 pm on Thursday, May 12, in the Museum of Art.
This show, which continues through July 16, considers the perception of light, color, space, and motion using 3 unique approaches. Photographer David Boyd’s Windowpane series depicts single moments in time as though seemingly in motion, resulting in complex, visually stimulating scenes. Boyd’s Shadows series, in contrast, engages the imagination of the viewer by utilizing minimal visual information. Painter Carlos Estrada-Vega employs an entirely abstract approach to the consideration of light, color, and motion, presenting color field compositions of various scales.
The museum is located at 491 N. Main Street and is open Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 am to 4:30 pm., Thursday 10:00 am to 8:00 pm, and Saturday from 9:00 pm to 4:30 pm.
