Light, Color, Space, Motion opens May 6. The opening reception is 5 to 7pm, during the Downtown Ramble, at the Museum of Art.
This two-person exhibition, continuing through July 16, featuring artists Carlos Estrada-Vega and David Boyd, considers the perception of light, color, space, and motion using three unique approaches. Photographer David Boyd’s Windowpane series depicts single moments in time as though seemingly in motion, resulting in complex, visually stimulating scenes. Boyd’s Shadows series, in contrast, engages the imagination of the viewer by utilizing minimal visual information. Painter Carlos Estrada-Vega employs an entirely abstract approach to the consideration of light, color, and motion, presenting color field compositions of various scales.
The Museum of Art is located at 491 N. Main Street and is open Tuesday through Friday from 10am to 4:30pm, Thursday from 10am to 8pm, and Saturday from 9am to 4:30pm. For additional information, visit the website at: http://las-cruces.org/museums or call 575-541-2137.
