September Events for the Entire Family at the Railroad Museum

The Las Cruces Railroad Museum presents a variety of programs during September that will appeal to everyone in the family. Choose an activity that fits your interests, and enjoy it in our 1910 Santa Fe Depot museum.

Family Game Day is from 10am – 12pm on Saturday, September 8. Challenge your friends to a game of Dominoes, practice your hand-eye coordination with Cup and Ball Toss, and play a variety of games that have entertained families for decades.

The Brown Bag Lecture “The Train That Brought Us Here” will be presented at 12pm on September 11 by Donna Milburn from the Tularosa Basin History Museum.

Rail Readers Book Club meets at 11am on September 19 and will discuss The A.B.C. Murders, by Agatha Christie. Even if you haven’t read the book, come enjoy the lively conversation.

Adults who enjoy coloring can visit the museum between 10am – 12pm on September 14 and 28. This is a chance to enjoy socializing with other adults while expressing yourself creatively. Bring your own supplies or use our coloring pages and colored pencils.

There are two Story Times for children in September, both beginning at 11am. On September 1, children of all ages can listen to a story and complete a related craft. On September 13, Mrs. Prickett and her playful puppets will engage pre-school children with a book and activity.

The museum is located at 351 N. Mesilla Street and is open Tuesday through Friday from 10am to 4:30pm, Wednesdays 10am to 8pm, and Saturdays 9am to 4:30pm. For additional information, visit the website at: http://las-cruces.org/museums or call 575.528-3444.
