2016 Archaeology Day

Saturday, March 26, 10 am – 1 pm, Branigan Cultural Center

People have lived in the Las Cruces area for over 10,000 years. How much do you know about the ancient history of our area? Join local archaeologists at the Branigan Cultural Center on Saturday, March 26 from 10 am to 1 pm for the 2016 Archaeology Day and learn more about the past of New Mexico.

Archaeologists and professionals from the El Paso Museum of Archaeology, Eastern New Mexico University, El Camino Real de Tierra Adentro (CARTA), Bureau of Land Management, the US Forest Service, and regional archaeological firms will all be present to bring their profession to the public. Come join us and learn about archaeology through fun demonstrations and interactive activities. Also, get the chance to hear about some of the ways that archaeologist contribute to our local community. Archaeology Day is free and open to the public.

The Branigan Cultural Center is located at 501 North Main Street and is open Tuesday through Friday from 10 am to 4:30 pm and Saturday, 9 am to 4:30 pm.  For additional information, visit the website at: http://las-cruces.org/museums or call 575.541.2154.
