The Las Cruces Railroad Museum hosts a Brown Bag Lecture at 12pm on the 2nd Tuesday of the month. On January 8, 2019, Andy Hume will present Las Cruces International Airport: Local Aviation’s Past, Present, and Future.
Hume has been the Airport Administrator for the City of Las Cruces Economic Development Department since 2017. Prior to that he was a transportation planner with the Metropolitan Planning Organization, and was also the Downtown Coordinator leading the downtown revitalization projects and programs.
The presentation will include a brief history of the airport, including the adjoining West Mesa Industrial Park. The airport planning process and future challenges and opportunities will also be discussed.
