The Las Cruces Museum of Art will host a lecture by art collector and artist David Sorensen at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 19, the final day of the exhibition “Las Cruces Collects.”
“Bicycle Beasts”, an etching by Thomas Arnel now on display at the MoA.
“Art and collecting is a family tradition,” states Sorensen. While on their honeymoon in post-World War II Paris, his parents purchased works by artists Joan Miro and Paul Gauguin. “My parents gave generously to help their children and grandchildren start and expand their own collections.”
Organized by the Las Cruces Museum of Art, “Las Cruces Collects” will be on display through Saturday, January 19, 2013.
