Defending Truth and Memory: The Path Towards Justice in Guatemala with Roderico Y. Diaz, Feb. 2, 2 P

Join the Branigan Cultural Center in welcoming photojournalist Roderico Y. Díaz on Friday, February 2 at 2pm. Mr. Diaz will present his photography highlighting the pain felt by Guatemalan people after mass killings rocked the country in the 1980’s. Mr. Diaz is a native of Guatemala and has photographed mass graves and the court proceedings of ex-military personnel accused of genocide. This presentation is in association with Diaz’s exhibition, Defending Truth and Memory: The Path Towards Justice in Guatemala, which will be on display at the University Museum, New Mexico State University, Kent Hall beginning February 1, 2018.

Admission to the Branigan Cultural Center is free. The museum is located at 501 North Main Street and is open Tuesday – Friday from 10am to 4:30pm, Saturday from 9am to 4:30pm. For additional information, visit the website at: museums.las-cruces.org or call 575.541.2154.
