Dino Days @ MoNaS, Jan. 2 – 4

The Museum of Nature & Science presents, “Dino Days”, January 2-4, 2019 from 10-11am. The programs are free and open to the public.

Take a ride back in time to the land of the lost through special activities designed to inspire budding paleontologists. Learn about the dinosaurs that walked the earth and roamed New Mexico. Discover what the fossils tell us about how these creatures lived. It’s a prehistoric party that will be a roaring good time! This event is fun for all ages and meets several requirements for the Webelo Digging in the Past merit badge.

Wednesday, January 2, examine and learn to identify trace fossils like those from the Paleozoic Trackways National Monument. Participants will make a fossil imprint to take home.

Thursday, January 3, learn about carnivores and herbivores from the Triassic through the Cretaceous. Take what you learn and create an imaginary dinosaur of your own.

Friday, January 4, practice your paleontology with a Dino ID game and simulated excavation.

The Museum of Nature & Science is located at 411 N. Main Street and is open Tuesday through Friday from 10am to 4:30pm and Saturday from 9am to 4:30pm. For additional information, visit the website at: http://las-cruces.org/museums or call (575) 522-3120.
