The Branigan Cultural Center presents Fire and Fiber, an exhibition that brings together local clay and fiber artists. The exhibit will be on view June 3 – July 2, 2016.
Fire and Fiber is a biannual exhibit that showcases the collaborative efforts between members of the Potters’ Guild of Las Cruces and local fiber artists. Fired clay and a fiber medium, such as fabric, paper, wood, or yarn, are combined into each piece. The contrasting materials require creative thinking by the artists and result in unique works of art.
The Potters’ Guild of Las Cruces is made up of about 60 members. The goals of the group are to foster the education of the arts, sponsor exhibitions and sales of the groups’ work, organize workshops, and promote community service.
The Branigan Cultural Center is located at 501 North Main Street and is open Tuesday through Friday from 10am to 4:30pm, Thursday from 10am to 8pm, and Saturday from 9am to 4:30pm. For additional information, visit the website at: http://las-cruces.org/museums or call 575-541-2154.
