Please join us for the 2013 History Lecture Series, lecture “Mescalero Basketry and Public Policy” on Thursday, February 14, 2013 at 1:00pm by Joan Jensen.

Joan Jensen taught History and Women’s Studies at New Mexico State University for over thirty years. She has published books and articles on rural women and women’s creativity. The expressive cultures of Indigenous women have especially interested her. This study of Mescalero basketmakers is just the latest phase of research that has ranged from Native women’s basketry to contemporary Native women’s photography.
