Open Sketch at MoA, Dec. 13, 5 PM

Join the Las Cruces Museum of Art on Thursday, December 13th, from 5pm-7pm for a relaxing evening of open sketch in the gallery. Featured subjects will be the art pieces in the Birds in Art exhibition as well as mounted bird specimens from the museum collections! The museum will provide all drawing materials and optional seating.

Birds in Art is a traveling exhibit from the Lee Yawkey Woodson Art Museum, Wausau, Wisconsin. Innovative artistic approaches and intriguing mediums – from bronze, wood, and Montana dendritic steatite to watercolor, oil, pyrography, and solar etching – convey the character, essence, and surroundings of birds. The annual “Birds in Art” exhibition features dynamic and contemplative interpretations of avian marvels via original paintings, sculptures, and graphics created within the last three years.

The museum is located at 491 North Main Street and is open Tuesday through Friday from 10am to 4:30pm and Saturdays from 9am to 4:30pm. For additional information, visit our website at: http://las-cruces.org/museums or call 575-541-2137.
