Pinhole Photography Workshop, Saturday, April 15, 2 pm

Celebrate Worldwide Pinhole Photography Day with the Las Cruces Museums!

Pinhole cameras are very basic, lens-free cameras that use a small pinhole to project an inverted image at the back of the camera. Larger pinholes allow for brighter images but reduce the focus sharpness of the images.

On Saturday, April 15, at 2:00pm, in the Museum of Nature and Science, workshop participants will

have the opportunity to use a pinhole viewer to practice seeing the inverted images, then take photos outside. Photographs will be developed and available to take home. Photographs may also be submitted to the online gallery for Worldwide Pinhole Photography Day, held this year on April 30. The workshop is free, but supplies are limited. Participants must be aged 12 or older. Please visit the museum or call 575.541.2137 to register.

Admission to the City of Las Cruces Museums are free. The museums are located on the downtown mall and are open Tuesday through Friday from 10am to 4:30pm and Saturday from 9am to 4:30pm. For additional information, visit the website at:

If you need an accommodation for a disability to enable you to fully participate in this event, please contact the museum 48 hours prior to the event.
