On September 6, at 7pm, members of the Foundation for Las Cruces Museums will enjoy appetizers on the beautiful patio at the Casitas Encantadas, in an exclusive members-only event. Enjoy the first Friday ramble through the Downtown area, then join foundation members for an enjoyable evening.
Admission cost is a bottle of wine to share, or a white elephant gift — something from your home you no longer want but believe other will enjoy — for the benefit auction. Members are encouraged to RSVP by email to friendsoflcm@gmail.com. New members are welcome, and can pay membership fees at the door.
If you value the work the city museums do in bringing art, culture, history, nature and science to the community, consider joining the Foundation for Las Cruces Museums. While admission to all the city museums (Branigan Cultural Center, Museum of Art, Museum of Nature & Science and Railroad Museum) is always free, foundation members are invited to special tours, programs and events. Membership contributions range from $25 (for seniors or students) or $60 for a family, to $500 at the top benefactor level. Members receive a complementary subscription to Smithsonian or Air and Space Magazine, and receive discounts at Smithsonian Affiliate museums. Most importantly, foundation members contribute to the needs and activities of the museums. The City of Las Cruces funds all four city museums, but the foundation helps with additional exhibit and operating expenses, as well as volunteer hours for special events.
