Solar Ovens for Saturday Family Science, 8/4, 11:45 am
The Museum of Nature & Science presents “Saturday Family Science – Solar Ovens,” Saturday, August 4, 2018 at 11:45am. The program is free and open to the public.
Ever tried to fry an egg on the sidewalk? It may not get hot enough for that here in Las Cruces, but you can certainly use the sun to cook. Work together to build a solar oven and make a quick snack by harnessing the heat from the sun.
“Saturday Family Science” is offered monthly, encouraging families to work as a team, problem solve, and experiment through participating in a wide range of STEM activities led by museum staff and volunteers.
The museum is located at 411 N. Main Street and is open Tuesday through Friday from 10am to 4:30pm, Wednesday from 10am to 8pm (June – August), and Saturday from 9am to 4:30pm. For additional information, visit the LCM Facebook event page or call (575) 522-3120.
