Witness the history of scientific discovery at the Museum of Nature and Science’s “STEAMpunk” program on Saturday, February 24, 2018, from 11:45am-12:45pm.
During this one-hour session, participants will travel in time to see the 19th Century
discoveries of scientist Gregor Mendel. Mendel was an Austrian monk who discovered the foundation of modern genetics through observing and describing hereditary traits in pea plants. Participants will learn about these observable traits, called phenotypes, through a hands-on activity.
Admission to the Museum of Nature and Science is free. The museum is located at 411 North Main Street and is open Tuesday through Friday from 10am to 4:30pm and Saturday from 9am to 4:30pm. For additional information, visit the website at: http://las-cruces.org/museums or call (575) 522-3120.
