Storyland: A Trip Through Childhood Favorites exhibit in the BCC

Storyland: A Trip Through Childhood Favorites opens Friday, April 6, 2018, and continues through Saturday, June 2, 2018, at the Branigan Cultural Center. This traveling exhibit from the Minnesota Children’s Museum is an exhibit that provides imaginative, book-based experiences for all ages.

Storyland transforms beloved award-winning books The Tale of Perter Rabbit by Beatrix Potter, The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats, and Where’s Spot? by Eric Hill into three-dimensional play and learning environments. Children can explore early literacy skills and concepts through imaginative, interactive experiences, and dramatic play. Babies and young toddlers can explore sounds and images through interactives, highlighting for adults how literacy development begins at birth. Matching, rhyming, poetry, and storytelling set the foundation for becoming literate by encouraging children to love books, learn words, tell stories, and read everything.

Storyland: A Trip Through Childhood Favorites was created by Minnesota Children’s Museum with support from the State of Minnesota Clean Water, Land and Legacy Amendment.

Admission is free to the Branigan Cultural Center, located at 501 North Main Street. The museum is open Tuesday through Friday from 10am to 4:30pm, and Saturday from 9am to 4:30pm. For additional information, visit the website at museums.las-cruces.org or call 575-541-2154.
