“Teen Science Café – Hazmat,” Feb. 21, 5:30 PM at the Museum of Nature & Science

The Museum of Nature & Science invites all middle and high school students to “Teen Science Café: Hazmat” with the City of Las Cruces Fire Department, Thursday, February 21, 2018 from 5:30pm-7pm. Dinner will be provided, and the event is free.

Fire-fighting is more than just hero stuff. Teens will meet with Las Cruces Fire Department Hazmat Technicians for a hands-on demonstration of how the Hazmat team samples and identifies hazardous chemicals. Participants will explore the chemistry behind firefighting and work with the pros.

Teen Science Café is a free, fun way for teens to explore the advances in science and technology and meet with STEM professionals to learn about career options for their future. Teens participate in discussion and hands on activities for deeper exploration of topics they choose.

The Museum of Nature & Science is located at 411 N. Main Street and is open Tuesday through Friday from 10am to 4:30pm, and Saturday from 9am to 4:30pm. For additional information, visit the website at: http://las-cruces.org/museums or call (575) 522-3120.
