Tombaugh Day, the annual celebration of the life and work of astronomer Clyde Tombaugh, will be held at the Museum of Nature and Science on Saturday, February 10, 2018 from 10am-12pm.
The Museum of Nature and Science will host continuous, free, hands on activities for all ages focusing on the discoveries of local astronomer Clyde Tombaugh. The event will begin with a welcome session and special presentation by the Tombaugh family at 10am in the museum’s classroom. The NMSU Astronomy Department and the Astronomical Society of Las Cruces will be on site with solar telescopes giving visitors the opportunity to safely view the sun.
Admission to the Museum of Nature and Science is free. The museum is located at 411 North Main Street and is open Tuesday through Friday from 10am to 4:30pm. and Saturday from 9am to 4:30pm. For additional information, visit the website at: http://las-cruces.org/museums or call (575) 522-3120.
