Do you love taking pictures of trains but always seem to miss the best shots? Dona Ana Photography Club member Robert Peinert will be teaching techniques to capture stunning images of trains, both stationary and moving, at the “Train Photography Class” held at the Las Cruces Railroad Museum on Saturday, September 15, 2018, from 9am – 12pm. This workshop is intended for ages 14 and above. Space is limited.
Please bring your own camera. While no trains are guaranteed to travel through the area during class, there are always train cars parked behind the depot, and an 1890 caboose is on permanent exhibit.
The class will begin with a short safety briefing and the remainder of the time will be outdoors; please plan accordingly with hat, sunscreen, and bottled water. The area surrounding the depot is uneven, so please wear appropriate footwear.
Participants must register and pay the $5 registration fee in person at the Museum of Nature & Science located at 411 N. Main Street. Registration is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10am to 4pm. Registration closes at 4pm, Wednesday, September 12.
The Railroad Museum is located at 351 N. Mesilla Street and is open Tuesday through Friday from 10am to 4:30pm, and Saturday 9am to 4:30pm. For additional information, visit the website at: http://las-cruces.org/museums or call (575) 528-3444.
