Brown Bag Lecture on Las Cruces in 1881

Prior to the arrival of the railroad, Las Cruces was beginning to experience growing pains. After the railroad arrived, the town was forever changed. Beckett has written extensively on local archaeology and history, and was the principal investigator on several archaeological projects. He has received numerous awards from historical and archaeological societies and has served on many historical and cultural boards and committees.
