Brown Bag Lunch Lecture on the Short Lines

The Las Cruces Railroad Museum will host a lecture at noon on Tuesday, March 10.  New Mexico’s rich railroading history included many different railroad companies.  Railroads with less than 100 miles of track were designated short lines. Many of these railroad companies were only in existence for a few years, but each has a unique and fascinating story.  Joseph E. Gill will discuss some of the early short lines railroads in Grant County, New Mexico.

Gil has a Master’s of Science in Counseling from San Bernardino State University in California. His father worked for the Santa Fe Railroad for 39 years and this fostered Joe’s life-long interest in railroads and their history.

Light refreshments served.  For more information, please call 575-647-4480.

The museum is located at 351 N. Mesilla Street, at the intersection of Las Cruces Ave.
