On Saturday, October 26, in conjunction with its current show, From the Ground Up XXVI, the Museum of Art presents a ceramic demonstration by Chris Lawrence from 10:00 am to 11:30 am in the Museum of Art’s courtyard. Later, at 1:00 pm, Suzanne Kane will give an artists talk in the art museum. Registration for these events is not required.
Chris Lawrence is an art teacher with the Las Cruces Public Schools and a ceramics instructor at the Las Cruces Art Museum. He has two pieces in the exhibition, Point Being and Watercrest.
Suzanne Kane is a ceramics instructor at NMSU and UTEP and in 2009 had a residency with the Archie Bray Foundation in Helena, MT. She has two pieces in the show, Globe and Garden Cage. Globe was selected as one of the 2013 Museum of Art Purchase Awards.

From the Ground Up XXVI is a regional and juried display of contemporary ceramics. This biennial event is held in collaboration with the Potters’ Guild of Las Cruces. Join us for these free programs and as we continue to showcase the innovative works of talented area artists.
The Museum of Art is funded by the City of Las Cruces and located at 491 N. Main Street next to the Branigan Cultural Center and the Museum of Nature & Science. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The Museum is closed Sundays and Mondays.
