Marietta Leis to show work at the Las Cruces Museum of Art

The exhibit opens on Saturday, November 23, in conjunction with a photography exhibit. An artists’ reception will be held on Friday, December 6 from 5:00PM-7:00PM.
On Saturday, December 7, Marietta Leis will speak at 1:00PM about her work. The exhibit is on display through January 18, 2014.
“My studio was a veranda with a thatch roof that looked out to vegetation of all colors, so my palette was ever-changing,” notes Leis. “The color linchpin, however, was GREEN – the living breathing color of life.” Her multimedia works are an expression of the imagery and ideas that flooded her during her stay in Thailand.

Funded by the City of Las Cruces, the Museum of Art is located at 491 N. Main Street, between the Branigan Cultural Center and the Museum of Nature & Science. For more information about exhibitions or programs, please call (575) 541-2137 or visit the website at www.las-cruces.org
