Sherlock Holmes at Railroad Book Club

The Rail Readers Book Club meets at the Las Cruces Railroad Museum at 11:00 am on the 3rd Wednesday of each month. On January 21, 2015 the club will discuss House of Silk, written by Anthony Horowitz.

Sherlock Holmes, one of the greatest fictional detectives of all times, is asked for help solving a train robbery. The robbers thought they were going to purloin a payroll, but instead blow up a safe containing priceless paintings. In attempting to catch the thieves, Holmes and Dr. Watkins find themselves drawn into the world of trans-Atlantic gangs and opium dens. The arrest of Holmes for murder causes even Watkins to wonder if there will be a satisfactory outcome to this mysteriously intertwined series of events.

This book is available at the Thomas Branigan Public Library and on Kindle and Nook. New members are always welcome, even if they have not read the book.

The museum is located at 351 N. Mesilla Street, at the intersection of Las Cruces Ave. For more information, call Joanne at 575-647-4480.
