Summer Workshops at MoNaS for Kids

The Museum of Nature and Science is offering three summer workshops for children ages 7-12.  Join us for a morning of explorations as we look at the weird, wacky & wonderful world of science!  All workshops are from 9:00 AM – noon on Tuesdays. Pre-registration and fees apply.  Contact the museum at (575) 522-3120 or khanson@las-cruces.orgfor more information.

Weird Science

July 15

Join staff in an exploration of electricity, physics and chemistry in this fun, hands-on class.  Make a fruit-powered battery, generate oxygen using enzymes and learn to make your own glue using milk!

Wacky Weather

July 29

Learn the causes of weather, experiment with some of its more dramatic effects and make your own weather station to take home!

Creepy Crawly World

August 5

Come learn about the world of arthropods – what they are, where they live and why they are so amazing!  Participants will create a bug habitat to take home and get an up close look at some of the Museums’ live collection of arthropods!
